New Wiring

The Zim's kit included a cable and a terminal block. The terminal block was not very useful, and the cable was too short. In fact, only a couple of connections were needed and wiring modifications were minimal. The output lead from the alternator was connected to the wire that originally went to the regulator B+. I soldered it and insulated it with heat-shrink tubing. The blue wire is new. It is an extension of the wire that went to the old regulator's 61 terminal; it now goes to the alternator's D+. I suppose I could have used the old field (DF) wire for this, but I didn't think of that in time. The old field wire is not used; it is just bundled up out of the way. I kept the ground wire that goes to the generator/alternator body, although I suppose you could justify eliminating it. It is connected to the chassis ground post on the left side of the engine compartment.
