Here you can see some of the worn parts of the carpet. I doubt that it was ever very neat. The carpet was glued to the pedal board, and holes for the pedals were hacked roughly. The carpet prevented the board from fitting correctly; a serious problem, as the clutch adjustment depends on the board's fit. The carpet under the seats and over the pedal board should be one continuous piece, and it should simply fold downward for access to the board.
