Worn Out Slider
Here is a worn-out slider for comparison. The teeth on the upper side are worn down and significantly rounded, and you can see wear on the surface that contacts the synchro band, which has actually rubbed some metal to the left of each tooth. The points on the opposite side are a little better, but, of course, you can't use just one side. I used this slider to make my pinion-shaft locking tool, described later.
