Ride Height

rideheight.jpg

I check the ride height by measuring it through the wheel center to the fender arch. This is obviously not the shop-manual method, but the height to which I set it isn't the standard value, either. I find that a 65 cm height, in the front, is about right to prevent bump steer problems. The rear should be around 64 cm. The front is fairly easy to adjust, as it's just a screw adjustment. The rear, however, is trickier, as it requires rotating the torsion bar. I'm just not interested in the extreme lowering that seems stylish with these cars; mine had been lowered quite a bit before I bought it, and the bump steer was very bad. I raised it to a more normal height.
