Mounted Alternator

Because I had the foresight to shave a few mils off the fan's diameter, it went into the shroud easily. I (again) put blue Loctite on the screws; I hope they stay in place this time. The instructions say that you "don't need" the gasket between the mounting plate and the shroud, but I found it necessary to prevent interference between the fan and the shroud's air intake. (This might be the fault of my fan shroud, which is from an early 356, or perhaps one or two of the welds protruded too much.) I suppose it moves the pulley a couple millimeters toward the rear of the car, and theoretically affects belt alignment, but I don't think that is a great concern. I checked the alignment and it appears to be right on. In any case, that small difference is lost in the noise.
